Charred Stupidity

Welcome to ForestFire! Let the truth burn you free!

Let’s get to the issues that fire me up and deplete the blogsphere.

(The new site design and the new name came from my good buddy Jason. He really pulled through on this one and I just want to publically thank him for the new design and the new name. Thanks Jason.)

First, a great crime has been committed by our government against two brave border patrol agents. Former border patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean will soon be starting their 11 and 12 years in federal prison for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler. The smuggler, who was just wounded, has filed a civil lawsuit against our government by the way. That’s right. Apparently, our justice system cares more about Mexican drug smugglers who invade our country illegally to sell poison than two border patrol agents. Over 50 conservative congressmen, including my own GOP Congressman Steve Pearce (Thanks Steve!) have signed a letter to President Bush to pardon both agents. Bush has refused, which is no surprise, since he has shown that he cares more about illegals from Mexico than American citizens anyway.

Conservative groups, talk radio, and elected officials are going to continue to fight to get these brave Americans vindicated. Kudos to our conservative base for fighting the RIGHT enemy.

Second, this past week American National Guardsmen fled, yes…fled, an observation post somewhere in the Texas/New Mexico border area due to a small band of ARMED illegal immigrants moving near their location. They soldiers fled to a ’safer location’ to call the border patrol to deal with the small band of barbarian invaders. This is a disgrace! American soldiers, the best and most fierce in the modern world, fled illegal immigrants. This is an embarrassment to our power. Now, I can’t completely blame the soldiers here because they are NOT allowed to engage. That’s right, under rules set by the administration they are only on the border as observers for our border patrol. Why don’t they just call them what they really are…..greeters.

Finally, todays Burning At The Stake Of Stupidity Victim: Nancy “Wicked Witch of the West” Pelosi.

The new leftist Speaker of the House, Nancy “Wicked Witch of the West” Pelosi, wasted no time breaking her ‘promise’ to be a fair and bi-partisan leader by leading the charge to kill a motion by Republicans to approve a ’Minority Bill Of Rights’ designed to give the minority party certain basic legislative freedoms. Such as the right to have their amendments to legislative come to the floor for an up or down vote and etc. The ironic thing is that Pelosi had SPONSORED this exact same bill earlier in 2006 when she was the House Minority Leader!

Don’t get me wrong, the very idea that each party can get along, hold hands, and pass legislation in a bi-partisan manner as governing policy is stupid. Yes…stupid. It is stupid because it will, nor has it ever, happened. The entire point of having two parties, or factions, is conflict. Conflict is NOT a bad thing because conflict allows for moderation, compromise, and restraint. But those who are idealists (i.e. the stupid) actually believe it is possible. How did the Democrats repay the Republican Senate leadership when it agreed to 50-50 power sharing when the chamber became split? They arranged Senator Jeffords to jump ship giving them an official majority that allowed them to ingore the power sharing and a return to pure majority rule. It is NOT the morality of good intentions but the morality of results. There is a difference between getting along and weakness.

Yet, the fact that she campaigned that she would be a bi-partisan leader demands that she live up to that promise….at least in theory.

Well, I hope all of y’all enjoy the new blog. Some items I want on this site are not up yet so be patient. Feedback is welcome!

Take care and tell five of your friends about this site. – Dean

Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action. -George Washington, 1st US
