Let’s get to the issues that fire me up and deplete the blogsphere.
Two incident recently came to light that will hopefully give the nation a glimpse of what many of us in New Mexico already know about our Bill Richardson. These two incidents expose King Bill for the two-faced and manipulative tyrant that he is.
The first incident was when Richardson promised this past Sunday that he will stop using the name of Marine Lance Cpl. Aaron Austin of Lovington, NM who was killed in Iraq. Governor Richardson has used Lance Cpl. Austin in a story for his campaign for president.
Richardson has been telling the story of how he attended the memorial service for Lance Cpl. Austin three years ago in Lovington, NM. Richardson stated that Austin’s mother, De’on Miller of Lovington, NM, thanked him for getting her the federal death benefits.
Yet, Lance Cpl. Austin’s mother has come out that the conversation about the federal money never happened. When asked in a broadcast interview about Austin’s mother refuting his claim, Richardson began to back track saying that the conversation ‘inspired’ him to ask the New Mexico Legislature for a death benefit for members of the state’s National Guard. Richardson finally agreed to stop citing Austin and Miller on the campaign trail.
The second incident came during Richardson’s interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” in which Richardson was caught trying to please everybody. Here is the actual exchange:
MR. RUSSERT: You’re a Red Sox fan.
GOV. RICHARDSON: I’m a Red Sox fan.
MR. RUSSERT: End of subject.
GOV. RICHARDSON: End of subject.
MR. RUSSERT: You better get rid of this book [in which Richardson says he's a Yankees fan].
GOV. RICHARDSON: Oh, no! I’m also a Yankee fan. I also like…
MR. RUSSERT: Oh, now, wait a minute!
GOV. RICHARDSON: You can—Tim…
MR. RUSSERT: I guarantee…
GOV. RICHARDSON: No, I know, I got in trouble…
MR. RUSSERT: …if you go—if you go to Yankee Stadium or Fenway, you cannot be both.
GOV. RICHARDSON: But I like—Mickey Mantle was my hero. If I weren’t running for president, and the Associated Press asked me, I’d play center field for the New York—I wanted to be number seven. And—but I still love the Red Sox as a team. I mean, this is the thing about me, Tim. I can bring people together. I can unify people.
MR. RUSSERT: Yankee fans and Red Sox fans?
GOV. RICHARDSON: Yes.
MR. RUSSERT: Not a chance.
GOV. RICHARDSON: Well, I bet I can.
Just more examples of why Bill Richardson can NOT be trusted. He says that he’s tough on border security, yet, he gives New Mexico drivers licenses to illegal aliens in the state. He claims that he wants ethics reforms, yet, his administration is full of graft and political hires. He claims that he is tough on terror, yet, as Clinton’s ambassador to the UN he supported going soft on dealing with Osama bin Laden. He claims that he is a democrat who cuts taxes, yet, New Mexico’s overall tax burden has increased.
Bill Richardson……all sizzle but no steak.

In today’s Wall Street Journal, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and former RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman authored an op-ed piece arguing in favor of amnesty. This comes as no surprise since Jeb Bush and Ken Mehlman have always favored amnesty as well as the new left-wing racism that is multiculturalism. Remember that Ken Mehlman, as RNC Chairman, was the one who actually apologized to the NAACP for past GOP racial abuses. Problem was that the GOP did NOT have any past racial abuses! The American south at the time of slavery and segregation was 100% Democratic! Mehlman apologizing only legitimized every lie made against us by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
Jeb Bush and Ken Mehlman are also responsible for bringing bilingualism into the GOP which goes against Reagan’s belief in making English the official language of the nation.
The one point that really stuck in my eye was Bush and Mehlman’s resurrection of the Proposition 187 lie. This lie is that Republican support for California’s 1994 Proposition 187, which cut off non-emergency public services to illegal aliens, drove California’s Hispanics to the Democratic party. This is a lie. Proposition 187 passed with over two-thirds of the vote. Proposition 198 passed with large amounts of Republicans, Independents, Democrats and Hispanics. The people of California were rightfully fed up with the high costs of free public services to illegal aliens. Bush and Mehlman’s belief that if proposition 187 had never come up then California’s Hispanics would be voting heavily Republican today is the utmost in stupidity. No Republican presidential candidate has won California since 1988 which was 6 years BEFORE Proposition 187.
In fact, a case can be made that California’s transformation from the home of Reagan to the ’Left Coast’ is a direct result of their growing Hispanic population and Republican flight to other states. California’s changing demographics are the reason for making California more Democratic.
Sorry, but the idea that California’s Proposition 187 drove Hispanics to the Democratic party is a LIE. Stop using it to get amnesty.
One of America’s top food cops went wild and had to face the real cops. MeMe Roth, founder of National Action Against Obesity (NAAO), is known for attacking Girl Scout cookies and wanting to ban school birthday cupcakes. MeMe finally went over the line. MeMe Roth went to exercise at the Philadelphia Spring Valley YMCA where she is a member. Upon entering, Ms. Roth spotted a table offering toppings for ice cream sundaes. Ms. Roth became angry in her do-gooder self righteousness and began vandalizing the table of toppings. YMCA officials immediately called the police.
Ms. Roth tried to justify her vandalism by claiming that “those of us fighting to keep our children and ourselves healthy deserve to have somewhere safe to go without being pressured to eat junk food.”
Doesn’t Ms. Roth’s statement above sound familiar? Kind of like those who argue that they ‘deserve’ to go into a bar and not have to breathe in smoke. What Ms. Roth, and those who support smoking bans, fail to understand is that they freely CHOOOSE to belong/enter establishments or centers that are private property. Thankfully the Spring Valley YMCA is going to terminate Ms. Roth’s membership.
The true threat to liberty, freedom and private property rights are the self righteous for they refuse to allow their opponents any consideration or moral validity.
Glad to find (courtesy of Mario Burgos) your blog. How long have you been blogging and from where in NM?
I’ve been blogging since early this year. I am in Hobbs.

For Gov Bill….they have a saying in Texas…”Big Hat No Cattle’ which is a pretty good description. Your picture of Bill must have come when confronted with the facts about New Mexico’s status among the other states noting we are last(or close to) in almost all categories/statistics that count.
