Let’s get to the issues that fire me up and deplete the blogsphere.

First, we should all thank Congressman Pearce for voting NO on the recent farm bill that was corrupted by a last minute tax increase on Americans. Pearce stood up for limited government, low taxes and reform against fraud. Thanks Steve!
Kudos to Congressman Steve Pearce for successfully forcing the left-wing leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives to protect ‘John Doe’ citizen informants from lawsuits by terrorist suspects.
Pearce’s ‘John Doe’ provision was placed back in the conference committee Homeland Security bill after being removed secretly. Pearce’s provision would grant immunity and ‘John Doe’ identity protection to citizens who report suspicious terrorist activity to the authorities.
Pearce stated:
“I am pleased to see that the pressure we created lead Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Harry Reid to make the right decision about protecting alert Americans. The American people shouldn’t have to think twice about alerting security and law enforcement to potential terrorist attacks. Vigilant citizens can often be the most useful weapon in the War on Terror. It was unnerving to watch the majority leadership ignore this fact and push to protect potential terrorists rather than innocent Americans.”
Congressman Steve Pearce continues to fight for our values in Washington. I wonder what values Bill McCamley or Al Kissling would fight for? I mean McCamley did receive campaign money from the same left-wing House leadership that tried to strip the Homeland Security bill of the ‘John Doe’ provision. Food for thought.

The city of Taos is the latest city in New Mexico to jump on the nanny government band wagon. Starting January 1st of next year motorists in Taos will be forced to turn off their cell phones while driving. This feel good, yet ineffective, law was passed by the Taos Town Council unanimously. Predictably, the Taos Town Council passed the new ordinance ‘in the interest of public safety’. Because they know what is best for us. I have already discussed why cell phone bans, like smoking bans, red light cameras and trans-fat bans, don’t really work but I will explain it again.
It’s not the phone, it’s the person. Like those who blame guns for crime, politicians and the media love to blame cell phones for accidents.
The main ’scientific report’ used to show how Driving While Talking (DWT) increases accidents is the 1997 study from Canada. However, the 1997 Canadian study does NOT take into account other variables like eating while driving or yelling at the kids in the back seat.
In fact, a 2001 University of North Carolina found that cell-phone use was responsible for only 1.5 percent of driving accidents. This means that the number of accidents caused by cell phone usage is STATISTICALLY INSIGNIFICANT! This report also showed that visiting with passengers and adjusting radio and CD players were a greater cause of accidents. I don’t hear anybody wanting to ban passengers or radios from private vehicles….yet.
Statistical manipulations are the key weapon of big government types to bias scientific studies and reports. This was the main weapon used to create the 1992 EPA ETS Second Hand Smoke study that propelled thousands of smoking bans on private property establishments.
The fact of the matter is that cell phones do NOT cause accidents. People cause accidents. We do not need a ban on using cell phones while driving because we already have a law to correct drivers who are distracted. It is called the reckless driving law. This is used to stop any driver who is distracted while driving be it using a cell phone, eating, changing the radio station or etc.
Like recycling and red light cameras, cell phone while driving bans don’t really do anything to help public safety. They just make people feel better about themselves while allowing politicians to collect more money via fines for city coffers (fines go up to $100).
(Don’t be surprised if the New Mexico State Legislature looks at a statewide cell phone while driving ban. Word has it that cell phones are the next ‘public safety’ ban being considered since they just passed the statewide smoking ban with bipartisan support.)
Sorry Taos, but this is bull.

Good Morning America recently reported on ‘Ginger Discrimination’ in the United Kingdom. This is beyond ridiculous. The best part was how the hosts of the show actually told the story as a real serious topic of ‘prejudice’.
The story centers on the Chapman family who were ‘driven’ from their home in the Manchester area due to bullying. Even Prince Harry complained of being teased for his red hair. When Mrs. Chapman was interviewed on the show she actually stated that her family should be classified as a minority since they were gingers.
This is idiotic, yet funny. Just because you have red hair does NOT make you a minority. If you are being teased for having red hair then deal with it and accept that we all get teased for something. If it still bothers you then deal with the bully. Cowboy up.
Below you will find a video clip from the show South Park in which Eric Cartman gives a brief presentation on why ginger kids are evil. It is hilarious. Laugh and enjoy. (WARNING: There is a little foul language. If you are offended even though it is humor….get over it.)

So, is it fine to mock Jews and Black people? If its not a problem for people to shout “Hey, gingy” on the street at me, we can also shout “Hey, kike!” and “Hey, nigger!”, right? I mean, they’re just making fun of my red hair, so I can make fun of dark skin and big noses (wide and hooked), right?
I can also spray paint anti-black commentary on black people’s homes, and make fun of their skin color everyday, right? Because that’s what happened to the Chapman’s for having red hair.
